CONSULTATIONS & PREVENTIVE CARE
Appointments are available throughout the week for:
- Vaccinations for puppies, kittens and adult pets
- Preventive health and parasite control
- Lameness assessments
- Skin lumps and behaviour checks
- General wellness advice
Our vets are skilled at identifying issues early and collaborating with our broader GVG network to manage complex or urgent cases when required. We work closely with Phillip Island Nature Parks and Wildlife Victoria to provide veterinary care for native wildlife, including seabirds, small mammals and other species unique to the region.
SURGICAL & DENTAL CARE
We are well-equipped for routine surgical procedures, including:
- Desexing
- Wound management
- Dental treatments, from routine cleans to radiography and tooth extractions
All patients are monitored with modern anaesthetic equipment, including ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry and blood pressure monitoring, supported by our experienced vet nurses to ensure the highest standard of patient safety.
IN-HOUSE DIAGNOSTICS
We use advanced tools to investigate and treat illnesses promptly and accurately:
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound imaging
- In-house blood analysers
These allow us to get fast answers and start treatment without unnecessary delays.
If your pet needs more complex surgery or intensive hospitalisation, our internal referral system ensures a seamless transfer to Wonthaggi or Leongatha clinics, with full access to your pet’s records and history.
PUPPY SCHOOL
Newhaven offers a popular four-week puppy school program, held after hours in the clinic. Each week, vaccinated puppies of all breeds and sizes learn to:
- Socialise with other dogs
- Build confidence
- Understand basic commands and routines
- Receive advice on nutrition, parasite control, training and more
Led by one of our qualified, experienced vet nurses, these sessions set puppies up for a lifetime of healthy habits.

We stock a carefully selected range of pet care items, including:
- Flea, tick, and worming treatments
- Grooming supplies
- Treats and toys
- Pet food and dental chews
We also dispense prescribed farm animal and equine medications, available for collection by local clients.
